Young musicians on the verge of promising careers will perform movements of popular concerti or operatic arias. The concert features Brass, Flute, Guitar, Piano, Reed, String and Voice Division winners of the Young Artist Section of Musicfest Northwest held at Gonzaga University campus earlier in the week. Master of Ceremonies. KPBX radio personality, Verne Windham.
It can be a whirlwind experience for the participants, who compete based on their live performances (no audition tapes). Winners from each division have only one day of rehearsal in the Martin Woldson Theater with Morihiko Nakahara and the Spokane Symphony before they are featured in The Young Artist Concert on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30 pm. Audiences are always blown away by the promising talent of these Young Artists who deserve an enthusiastic and appreciative audience.
“The live competition of Musicfest Northwest’s Young Artist Section and the thrill of sharing the stage with the Spokane Symphony draws talent from the entire region and makes our festival unique” –Gail Belanger, President
