Our six-concert Pops Series opens with the rockin’ feel-good music of SuperDiamond featuring vocals by Randy “Super Neil” Cordero.  The Spokane Symphony will also be joined by the fiery Mambo Kings, singer-songwriter Judy Collins, bluegrass innovators Steep Canyon Rangers, and more. The series concludes with emerging star Aubrey Logan, a vocal-powerhouse featured on Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox.

Pops 2: Mambo Kings

Formed in 1995, this top-notch Latin jazz ensemble is nationally recognized for their explosive blend of Afro Cuban rhythms and jazz improvisation. The Mambo Kings take you on an electrifying Latin jazz tour of the Americas with Brubeck's "Blue Mambo a la Turk" and the burning Tito Puente's "Tres Lindas Cubanas."

Singer-songwriter Judy Collins has inspired audience for five decades, singing traditional and contemporary folk standards and her poignant original compositions. Her more than 50 albums have earned her multiple Grammy nods, from her stunning 1967 rendition of “Both Sides Now” to her 2017 nomination for “Silver Skies Blue.”

Steep Canyon Rangers

Steep Canyon players are modern bluegrass music's hard-charging innovators, with Nicky Sanders' gale-force fiddle breakdowns and Mike Guggino's blistering mandolin solos, this North Carolina band earned a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album in 2013.

Adored in Scott Bradlee’s acclaimed Postmodern Jukebox, she performs jazz, neo-soul, classic rock and more.

The Pops Series is currently only available by subscription or as part of a Take-5 package. Individual tickets for the Pops concerts will go on sale on Thursday, August 17.
