Review of new arrangement of Brahms' Opus 25:

“GRAND AND SUPERBLY POLISHED”: A NEW CONCERTO BY BRAHMS/DÜNSER

A new concerto for piano, four hands and string orchestra, based on the two original versions of Brahms’s G minor quartet, was written for and dedicated to the Silver Garburg Piano Duo by the Austrian composer Richard Dünser. This new concerto evokes enthusiasm and appears on their season’s concert list over twenty times, with orchestras in Berlin, Vienna, Jerusalem, Bratislava, Spokane, Klagenfurt, Tel Aviv, and Bremen. The Premiere with the Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie and Maestro Florian Krumpöck was reviewed by the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung (30.10.2017):

"The audience exulted in the virtuosity and timbral magic kindled by the Silver-Garburg Piano Duo – from the rapturous-melancholic transformation of the first movement through the dancelike intermezzo to the ‘alla Zingarese’ bursting with power and speed – all of it grand and superbly polished.” FULL REVIEW
