The Spokane Symphony invites all 4th graders in the Spokane region and all 4th/5th graders in northern Idaho to their Fourth Grade Concerts, a 50-60 minute interactive concert, entitled Musical Time Machine, that explores the evolution of music over the years, while introducing the instruments and their unique sounds. Each programs provides school curriculum and includes pre-concert classroom activities.
This comprehensive program from the Weill Music Institute of Carnegie Hall provides instructional materials for students and teachers to learn to play recorder, plus other music concepts, and concludes with a performance with the orchestra at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on May 8. 2019.
By partnering with the Spokane Public Schools, Music Innovates provides over 100 underserved students hands-on classical music instruction and coaching from Spokane Symphony musicians and experienced school teachers.
