4th and 5th graders from all around the Inland Northwest are invited to attend this 45 minute concert which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and introduces the instruments and their unique sounds. Designed to correlate to school curriculum, each program includes pre-concert classroom activities, developed under oversight of school teachers/administrators with government mandated learning standards. Students will be introduced to the majesty and drama of Holst’s “The Planets”, treated to Dr. Jose Francisco Salgado’s stunning high-definition film from NASA set to the music, and also learn about the instruments through Britten’s “Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra”, and more.
Jorge Luis Uzcátegui conducts and films are proviced by astronomer Dr. Jose Francisco Salgado of KV 265 Science & Symphony. Curriculum is available to prepare your students for participation in this interactive concert experience.

Here is a video about Fourth/Fifth Grade Concert posted by the Spokane Public Schools:
"Thank you for doing such a beautiful job with the 4th grade symphony concert! The students were very engaged and loved the music. I enjoyed the stories and information you shared about each piece - that really helps students to have a better understanding of the music they are listening to. Your love for music and for sharing with young people is a blessing to our community. Thanks to you and to all the wonderful and amazing symphony musicians!" — Carol Pederson, SPS Visual & Performing Arts Coordinator
My daughter's 4th grade class attended yesterday’s symphony performance at the Fox Theater. Thank you so much for a very cool and educational experience. The selection of music performed for the kids could not have been more exciting and appropriate. Kudos to a wonderful program that does such a successful job of introducing students to a realm of music that most have not experienced. Conductor Uzcátegui truly connected with a music hall full of 9 and 10 years, which isn’t always an easy feat. — Parent
