The award-winning State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara, CA joins the Spokane Symphony for the 9th year to perform The Nutcracker Ballet with more than 70 local dancers. Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara conducts the orchestra. Tickets start at $19.50 for children 12 and under, and $28 for adults. DETAILS
FOX PRESENTS MARK O’CONNOR’S “AN APPALACHIAN CHRISTMAS”

Grammy-winning composer and fiddler Mark O’Connor and his family perform Christmas classics and original compositions. His album, “An Appalachian Christmas,” reached #1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Album charts when it was released in 2011, and has been in the top five each year since. On tour with Mark is his wife, Maggie O’Connor, son Forrest O’Connor, and daughter-in-law Kate Lee O’Connor. Tickets start at $30. DETAILS
WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL CONCERT: LOVE BE OUR SONG

Celebrate the season with the Whitworth University Christmas Festival concerts, Love Be Our Song, featuring 120 student performers, including members of the Whitworth Choir, the Whitworth Women’s Choir, and the Whitworth Men’s Chorus, as well as instrumentalists and narrators. Celebrate the birth of Christ with The Oaks Classical Academy at their annual Christmas concert. All 335 Oaks students, faculty, and even some alumni take the stage to celebrate the joy of Christmas, sharing songs of the season through a variety of choral and orchestral pieces. The concert also features a nativity staged by the kindergarten class. This concert is free, and all are welcome! This event is free and open to the public. DETAILS
SPOKANE SYMPHONY HOLIDAY POPS WITH VANESSA WILLIAMS

American pop icon, Vanessa Williams, stars in Holiday Pops with the Spokane Symphony, singing her hits and songs from her holiday albums. The program, conducted by Music Director James Lowe, includes selections by the Spokane Symphony Chorale, a carol singalong, and an appearance by our delightful out-of-town guest, Santa Claus! The Spokane Symphony continues its beloved tradition of playing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on New Year’s Eve. It’s an exhilarating testament to the human spirit. The concert is only one hour, leaving plenty of time to continue the celebration. Conductor Morihiko Nakahara is joined by the Spokane Symphony Chorale, Amy Porter, Soprano, Patti Mortier, Mezzo-Soprano, Stephen Rumph, Tenor, and Charles Robert Stephens, Baritone.
