SPOKANE SYMYPHONY'S THE M SHOW: MUSIC, MAYHEM & MYSTERY
Saturday, Jan. 11 at 8pm

Join in the fun of The M Show, created and hosted by Spokane Symphony Concertmaster Mateusz Wolski. Mateusz is joined on stage at the Knitting Factory by a small ensemble of orchestra musicians, plus some special guests, including Spokane Symphony trumpet player and newly-appointed Spokane Poet Laureate, Chris Cook, and aerialist John Hernandez. The M Show features short selections of classical music, with a twist of pop and rock music, spiced up with comedy bits and entertaining short videos. It’s an evening guaranteed to be full of music, fun and laughter. Tickets start at $24. DETAILS

SPOKANE YOUTH SYMPHONY: 70 YEARS OF EDUCATION

During the 2019-20 season, the Spokane Youth Symphony is celebrating seven decades of providing exemplary orchestral education for the youth of the Inland Northwest. This concert is the second of the season, and includes performances by all four orchestras of the Spokane Youth Symphony, and includes the following ensembles: Spokane Youth Strings: John Marshall, conductor; Spokane Youth Sinfonietta: Jerilynn Harris, conductor; Spokane Youth Philharmonic: Roberta Bottelli, conductor; Spokane Youth Symphony Orchestra: Philip Baldwin, conductor. Tickets are $18 adults, $16 seniors (65+), $14 youth (under 12). DETAILS

Kevin Smith and Jay Mewes are coming to Spokane to show their latest and greatest motion picture, the star studded Jay and Silent Bob Reboot! Jay will be joining Kevin for a Q & A and for the VIP Experiences! The New Jersey stoner icons who first hit the screen 25 years ago in Clerks are back! When Jay and Silent Bob discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them, the clueless duo embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again. After the screening, filmmaker Kevin Smith will give a talk and answer questions. Tickets are $50, and VIP packages are available at $100, $200 and $800. DETAILS

The Spokane Symphony celebrates the 250th year of Beethoven’s birth with guest violinist Augustin Hadelich playing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. The orchestra, conducted by guest conductor Mark Russell Smith, will also perform Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Symphony No. 7. Come early for the 30-minute pre-concert talk by the conductor and guest artist, one hour before each performance. Doors open 90 minutes before masterworks concerts. Tickets start at $21. DETAILS

In Pixar in Concert, there are montages and memorable clips from every one of Pixar’s 14 films shown on the Fox Theater’s giant new 20’ x 40’ screen, including Cars, Ratatouille, A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc. and Brave, all accompanied by the Spokane Symphony, playing the scores by Randy Newman, Patrick Doyle, Thomas Newman and Michael Giacchino that have won 10 Grammys, 3 Academy Awards, and 10 Oscar nominations.
