WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY JAZZ ENSEMBLE, FEATURING RYAN KEBERLE & CATHARSIS

Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8pm
Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox

The award-winning Whitworth Jazz Ensemble performs with trombonist/composer Ryan Keberle and his piano-less quartet, Catharsis. The band includes trumpeter Mike Rodriguez, bassist Jorge Roeder, and drummer Eric Doob. Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 seniors (62+) and students. Whitworth students with ID are $10 (available through the box office). DETAILS 

SPOKANE YOUTH SYMPHONY: 70 YEARS OF INSPIRATION

Saturday, Nov. 3 at 4pm

This concert is the opening performance of the Spokane Youth Symphony’s 2019-20 concert season. It celebrates seven decades of providing exemplary orchestral education for the youth of the Inland Northwest. Each SYS concert includes performances by all four orchestras: Spokane Youth Strings with conductor John Marshall; Spokane Youth Sinfonietta with conductor Jerilynn Harris; Spokane Youth Philharmonic with conductor Roberta Bottelli; and Spokane Youth Symphony Orchestra with conductor Philip Baldwin. Tickets are $18 adult, $16 seniors (65+) and youth (under 12). DETAILS 

NICK NORTON PRESENTS: PHANTASM – AN EVENING OF MAGIC

KIP MOORE: ROOM TO SPARE ACOUSTIC TOUR

Moore’s acoustic tour was sparked by his recently released Room to Spare: The Acoustic Sessions EP. It follows his album, Slowheart, which includes Moore’s fourth No. 1 single, “More Girls Like You.” Moore’s other three No. 1 singles incude “Beer Money,” “Hey Pretty Girl” and “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck.” Tickets range from $33.50 to $62.50. DETAILS 

SPOKANE SYMPHONY POPS 2:  A CELEBRATION OF VETERANS

The Spokane Symphony performs a musical salute to veterans from all branches of the armed forces, with patriotic music and popular songs from each era of American military involvement, from the Civil War to the present day. Guest vocalists are Abbey Crawford, Derrick Parker and Jim Swoboda. Tickets start at $43. DETAILS 

WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY WIND SYMPHONY

The Whitworth University Music Department presents the Whitworth Wind Symphony in concert under the direction of Richard Strauch. Music includes American composer Mason Bates’ exciting work for winds, Sea-Blue Circuitry, in a program with works by J.S. Bach, Oscar Navarro, Percy Grainger and Fisher Tull. Tickets: $7 adults, $5 seniors and students without ID, free for students with ID. DETAILS 

FOX PRESENTS RAY LaMONTAGNE: JUST PASSING THROUGH

Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne stops at The Fox on his Just Passing Through acoustic tour, featuring songs from his vast and varying body of work. SPOKANE SYMPHONY MASTERWORKS 4: 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOON LANDING

Experience the majesty and drama of Gustav Holst’s The Planets—the music that inspired John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Frank Zappa and more! Dr. José Francisco Salgado, an Emmy-nominated astronomer, joins the Symphony with stunning high-definition film from NASA, set to the music, capturing the inspiration and excitement of space exploration. Dr. Salgado presents “Science & Symphony” films around the country.  Also in this concert, Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, Debussy’s Clair de lune, and Belioz’s Around the Earth in 90 MinutesTickets start at $21.  The Spokane Symphony offers free tickets for masterworks concerts to students, K-12. DETAILS

FOX PRESENTS: AN EVENING WITH CHEVY CHASE with a SCREENING OF NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION

Spend “An Evening with Chevy Chase” when he’s is in Spokane the day after Thanksgiving with his beloved holiday classic, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. After the screening of the movie on The Fox Theater’s new giant screen (20’ x 40’), Chevy will give an hour-long talk and do an audience Q & A.  He’ll tell stories about his career as an original member of the cast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, plus tell tales about his mega-hits, Caddyshack, National Lampoon’s Vacation, Fletch and Three Amigos. For many families, it’s not Christmas without watching Christmas Vacation. GEORGE LOPEZ: LIVE in CONCERT

Comedian and comic actor George Lopez received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 as a result of his multi-faceted career in television, film, standup comedy and late-night TV hosting. Time Magazine named him one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America, and the Harris Poll named him one of the Top Ten Favorite Television Personalities. Tickets start at $60. DETAILS
