THE LOWEDOWN

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 AT NOON | THE MAC

Music Director James Lowe gives you the "LoweDown" on the weekend's prgram. It's a free, engaging, and lighthearted talk about the music's historical context and meaning, and the fascinating and often times scandalous lives of the composers.

MASTERWORKS AND MIMOSAS

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 AT 10AM | THE FOX

Exerience a behind-the-scenes look at how Masterworks performances are perfected. Watch the inner workings of the orchestra as James, the musicians, and our guest artists shape and polish each work in the final rehearsal. Enjoy a mimosa, coffee and parties from Rind and Wheat.

MASTERWORKS 1: FANTASTIQUE!

SATRUDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 AT 7:30PM | SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 AT 3PM

Natasha Paremski, Piano

Masterworks 1 features landmark pieces of the classical repertoire. Belioz's Symphonie fantastique will capture your imagination with its lush, romantic storytelling. The energetic and creative sounds of Jessie Montgomery's Starburst and a virtuosic performance of Beethoven's 5th piano concerto round out the evening. Doors open 90 minutes prior to start time. Come early, grab a cocktail, and hear Music Director James Lowe's insights about the weekend's music.

Symphony Week with Spokane Public Radio

Spokane Public Radio's Jim Tevenan holds conversations with guest artists and some of your Spokane Symphony favorites, diving into featured music, work in the community, and the fascinating lives of performers and composers. Additionally, symphony members and guest artists perform live on air.

Tuesday, September 13

Music Director James Lowe, Executive Director Jeff vom Saal, John Marshall (Principal Cell), and Lynne Feller-Marshall (Principal Bassoon) chat about the upcoming season and what performances and events to look forward to. John Marshall and Lynne Feller-Marshall will then perform a duet live on air!

Music Director James Lowe, Education and Outreach Manager Alexandra Rannow, and Meagan Gillis (Principal Timpani) talk about the Spokane Symphony's dedication to community outreach and education throughout Spokane and the Inland Northwest. Meagan Gillis will then give a live performance on the Timpani!

Friday, SEPTEMBER 16

Music Director James Lowe, Education and guest artist, Pianist Natasha Paremski come together to talk about the first performance of the season - Masterworks 1: Fantastique! Learn about the music and hear a live performance from Natasha before she takes the Fox Theater stage on Saturday and Sunday.
